Arising from the resignation of Councillor Gordon Thomson effective 31 July 2026, in accordance with Schedule 4.1A, Clause 12 of the Local government Act 1995I proceed to fill that vacancy through the backfill provisions.

Arising from the election result of the 2025 election in which Councillor Thomson was elected, there were two backfill candidates, the first being FOO Kee Heng and the second MASLI Hafiz.

On 3rd August 2026, FOO Kee Heng was notified of the vacancy and offered the position as the first backfill candidate. FOO Kee Heng declined that offer. On 4th August 2026, MASLI Hafiz as the second backfill candidate was then offered the position and has accepted.

Accordingly, MASLI Hafiz is elected as of 4th August 2026 for the remainder of Councillor Thomson’s term of office, which expires 20th October 2029.

鉴于议员戈登·汤姆森（Gordon Thomson）根据1995年《地方政府法》第12条附表4.1A的规定，于2026年7月31日辞职，现根据替补条款填补该空缺。

在2025年的选举中，汤姆森议员当选，因此产生了两名替补候选人，分别是FOO Kee Heng和MASLI Hafiz。

2026年8月3日，FOO Kee Heng获悉该职位空缺，并被作为首位替补候选人获得该职位的录用通知。然而，FOO Kee Heng拒绝了该录用通知。2026年8月4日，作为第二位回填候选人的MASLI Hafiz随后获得了该职位的录用通知，并接受了该职位。

因此，自2026年8月4日起，MASLI Hafiz被选为议员，接替汤姆森议员完成其剩余的任期，该任期将于2029年10月20日届满。

Berikutan peletakan jawatan Ahli Majlis Gordon Thomson yang berkuat kuasa pada 31 Julai 2026, dan selaras dengan Jadual 4.1A, Fasal 12 Akta Kerajaan Tempatan 1995, saya meneruskan proses pengisian kekosongan jawatan tersebut melalui peruntukan pengisian semula.

Berdasarkan keputusan pilihan raya tahun 2025 yang menyaksikan pemilihan Ahli Majlis Thomson, terdapat dua calon pengisian semula, iaitu FOO Kee Heng sebagai calon pertama dan MASLI Hafiz sebagai calon kedua.

Pada 3 Ogos 2026, FOO Kee Heng telah dimaklumkan mengenai kekosongan tersebut dan ditawarkan jawatan itu sebagai calon pengisian semula pertama. FOO Kee Heng telah menolak tawaran tersebut. Pada 4 Ogos 2026, MASLI Hafiz, selaku calon pengisian semula kedua, telah ditawarkan jawatan itu dan beliau telah menerimanya.

Demikian, MASLI Hafiz dipilih berkuat kuasa mulai 4 Ogos 2026 untuk baki tempoh perkhidmatan Ahli Majlis Thomson, yang akan tamat pada 20 Oktober 2029.
