In accordance with section 4.56 (a) of the Local Government Act 1995, and regulation 30 (1) of the Local Government (Elections) Regulations 1997, should at the close of nominations 4.00pm Thursday 7th September 2023 there be more candidates received than vacancies, a drawing of lots for positions on the ballot paper will be conducted.

This will occur in the Training Room at Shire of Christmas Island, George Fam Centre Murray Road, Christmas Island on Friday the 8th September 2023 at 9.00am

The timing of drawing the lots is to provide sufficient time for the vetting of candidates nominations to ensure all candidates have complied with revised declaration on the nomination form 8.

All members of the public and candidates are welcome to witness the drawing of lots for positions on ballot paper.

根据《1995年地方政府法》第4.56（a）条和《1997年地方政府（选举）条例》第30（1）条，如果在2023年9月7日星期四下午4点提名结束时收到的候选人多于空缺，将对选票上的职位进行抽签。

Selaras dengan seksyen 4.56 (a) Akta Kerajaan Tempatan 1995, dan peraturan 30 (1) dari Peraturan-Peraturan Kerajaan Tempatan (Pilihan Raya) 1997, seandainya pada penutupan penamaan pukul 4.00 petang Khamis 7 September 2023 terdapat lebih banyak calon yang diterima daripada kekosongan jawatan, cabutan lot untuk posisi di atas kertas undi akan dijalankan.

Ini akan berlaku di Bilik Latihan di Shire Pulau Krismas, George Fam Centre Murray Road, Pulau Krismas pada hari Jumaat 8 September 2023 pukul 9.00 pagi.

Hari yang terpilih untuk cabutan lotnya dijalankan adalah dikerana untuk menyediakan masa yang mencukupi untuk menapis penamaan calon bagi memastikan semua calon telah mematuhi pengisytiharan yang disemak pada borang pencalonan 8.

Semua orang dan juga calon-calon dialu-alukan untuk menyaksikan cabutan lotnya untuk posisi di atas kertas undi.
