In accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA, CI) notice is hereby given for the temporary closure of Poon Saan Road to all traffic from 6:00pm to 11:00pm on Sunday 19 March 2023 for the Union Day celebrations. The extent of the closure is between the Poon Saan Shops and the Hardware store.

For the duration of the closure the remainder of the One Way section of Poon Saan Road will be open for two way traffic. Motorists and residents of Poon Saan Road are to take extra care when using the road during this period.

The Shire of Christmas Island apologises for any inconvenience caused by the road closure.
