The Shire of Christmas Island wishes to advise that the above activity will be conducted on Sunday the 16th of August 2026 from 5:00am – 1:00pm along a route from the Cricket Club finishing at Flying Fish Cove. This event will be conducted on the following roads:

Arising from the resignation of Councillor Gordon Thomson effective 31 July 2026, in accordance with Schedule 4.1A, Clause 12 of the Local government Act 1995I proceed to fill that vacancy through the backfill provisions.

The Shire of Christmas Island's appointed contractor will be continuing the stray chicken control program from 7–21 August.
